Extended product description

GameSir X5 Lite – the version with minimal latency

The GameSir X5 Lite is the telescopic controller for people who want one thing above all else: to play as directly as possible. Whilst the Gamesir 5xS focuses on wireless freedom, the 5X Lite opts for a wired USB-C connection. And that’s precisely why I prefer this version. That’s because you get minimal latency, no faff with pairing, and simply more direct, responsive input. Whether you’re emulating, streaming or just serious mobile gaming, it feels better straight away.

We’ve all got a super-powerful potential emulator in our pockets, and let’s be honest: it’s a shame not to make the most of it. With the X5 Lite, you can instantly turn your phone into a much more serious handheld setup, without those annoying on-screen controls. And because it connects directly via USB-C, everything feels just that bit faster and more stable than with a Bluetooth solution.

Key features

  • Telescopic controller with USB-C port
  • Ultra-low latency via a direct wired connection
  • Suitable for Android and iPhone with USB-C
  • Compatible with devices 105 to 213 mm wide
  • Hall Effect sticks
  • Lightweight design weighing 135.4 grammes
  • Pass-through charging whilst in use
  • Customisable button layout
  • Turbo function
  • Support via the GameSir app

Why this model is special

The strength of the GameSir X5 Lite lies precisely in its simplicity. No battery in the controller itself, no Bluetooth pairing, no extra steps involved. You click your phone into place, connect it straight away and you’re ready to go. As a result, this version feels just that bit more direct and robust than the wireless version. That’s precisely why it’s my personal favourite.

What’s more, it’s also nice and light. The X5 Lite weighs just 135.4 grams, which means it remains comfortable to use and doesn’t feel unnecessarily heavy when paired with your phone. This makes it particularly appealing if you want a mobile setup that’s easy to carry around and doesn’t feel cumbersome.

It’s also great that GameSir hasn’t skimped on the important features with this controller. You still get Hall Effect sticks, a comfortable grip, pass-through charging and the option to customise the ABXY layout. So the Lite isn’t just the cheaper version, but above all the version for people who prefer a stable, fast connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose the X5 Lite over the 5xS?
If you’re looking for the most direct experience possible, then the X5 Lite is the more logical choice. Thanks to the wired USB-C connection, there’s less lag and the input simply feels more responsive. You’ll notice this particularly if you’re sensitive to latency.

Does the X5 Lite have a battery?
No, and that’s exactly the point. It draws power directly from your phone, so you don’t need to charge a separate controller. Another handy feature is that you can carry on charging your phone as normal via pass-through charging.

Does this version have analogue triggers?
No, the X5 Lite uses membrane triggers. So if you’re really looking for analogue triggers, this isn’t the right choice. But if you’re mainly looking for a fast, lightweight and responsive mobile controller, then this is exactly what you need.

Does it fit any phone?
Not on every phone, but on most modern devices with USB-C. The supported length is between 105 and 213 mm. If you’re using a thick case, it’s a good idea to check that everything connects properly.

Is this suitable for long sessions?
That’s absolutely fine. Precisely because it’s light and doesn’t feel unnecessarily heavy, this is a comfortable controller for longer sessions. Of course, the weight of your phone also plays a part in this.
